Avatar

I have finally settled on an avatar for myself.

I realize that it might seem unfriendly to some. Sorry, but I like it.

It is actually a merging of two images from one of my favorite online comics, "Wapsi Square" the particular strip can be seen here.

I hope you like it.

Night!

Jars - Lots and lots of jars

We had moved our canned stuff from one room to another when my niece moved in with us, but had made no effort to keep them in any sort of order. So last night Gunner and I sat down and pulled them all off the shelf to see what we had. We have lots of jams and jellies and pickles. What we found out though is that we are running seriously short on salsa.

Gunner loves our salsa. He says every time he opens a jar he gets that fresh tomato scent and it takes him back to last summer when we canned them. He uses it in everything, on rice, in soups, over chicken ...

We are down to 8 quarts and 4 pints (not doing pints again, they are too small).

Looks like we are going to be doing a whole month of just tomatoes this year.

Update - 8 quarts and 3 pints - Nothing smells as good as those jars of tomatoes!

Self publishing

I have been asked by my DH to do a post about Lulu. Lulu? Lulu.

Lulu.com is a self publish website. You can upload and have printed as many or as few copies as you want (they are an on-demand publisher). We were introduced to their service as a result of a contest for unpublished authors. Gunner has been working on a series of short stories for some time, and we had been thinking about having it published when we became aware of the contest. We entered his book, but unfortunately he did not win. Drat.

Anyway, the instructions are easy to follow. I would recommend printing them out and reading them ahead of time. You will likely need to make some adjustments to the margins of your document, but that is about all. The service is easy to use, and easy to order from.

I highly recommend it.

And if you want to order a copy of Gunner's book, here is a link.

Enjoy!

Hi

Well, changed the template. I decided to go with one of Bloggers basics this time around. I have also updated my blog links.

I added Bad Bad Ivy, Chip Talks, Big Orange Michael, TN Girl, & This is Smyrna. All really nice people. I got to meet them all on Saturday at a Smyrna Blogger get-together (Nashville? get-together since TN Girl came all the way from Goodletsville to attend) and had a great time. Go over to Chip Talks for some nice pics of the occasion including one of me and my hubby (noquarters).

Night!

The Amazing Mother and her THREE WEEK LABOR!!!!

No, actually she was only in labor for about 2 days (I know, more than long enough), and finally had the baby on Christmas Day (barely, but in just under the wire).

Welcome, Issac Charles. Love ya Kid!
